Why wasn't there a Mont in 1900?
Basically, the cup committee never got round to organising it!
The reporter for the local paper included a few 'reminders', and suggested that around October they basically decided to give the job to someone else, but neglected to pass the information on properly to them, by which time it was too late anyway.
