A Clever Centre Half

March 1927

Mexborough and Swinton Times, March 11, 1927

Cyril Miller, the centre-half of the Thurnscoe Victoria team, was the outstanding player in the semi final match of the Montagu Cup competition on the Mexborough Athletic ground on Saturday when Thurnscoe were defeated by Goldthorpe United.

He is a clever shrewd player who uses his head well. He has about six year’s experience in Midland League football with Wombwell and Frickley.

He is about 5ft 10 in high and weights about 11 st 7 lb.

He is only 25 years old and has a good deal of football before him.
