SUPER sub Gavin Allott scored to win the Mexborough Montagu Cup for AFP—and write their name into the history books.

The first Rotherham Sunday League team ever to reach the final, the Kimberworth side went one better by lifting the trophy with a 1-0 win over Swinton WMC on Monday.

Allott rattled in a fine effort deep in extra time to decide the contest and seal a deserved win at Hampden Road in Mexborough.

AFP had the edge throughout, with Scott Whittingon and Rob Branagan both having good chances. The Swinton keeper was in inspired form and a replay was just a few minutes away when Allott struck.
